c. Road Safety Tips

Hellenic Police, particularly aware of the issues of safe driving and road safety, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of road accidents, reminds all drivers and road users that road safety is everyone’s business.

In this context, drivers must all apply the provisions of the Road Traffic Code, drive prudently and carefully, and follow the instructions and advice of traffic police officers.

We must not forget that “driving safely” means:

I learn and apply the Road Traffic Code

I do not drive when I have consumed alcoholic beverages

I don’t break the speed limit

I don’t do irregular overtaking

I don’t run a red light

I stop at STOP signs and give priority

I always wear a seat belt, just like a helmet on motorcycles

I protect the children in the vehicle by using child seats

I am constantly focused on driving keeping the vehicle under control

I do not use cell phones and other distracting devices while driving

I respect the markings and instructions of the traffic controllers

I give priority to pedestrians and people with special needs

I do not overestimate my driving skills or the technical capabilities of the vehicle

I respect and protect my fellow passengers and fellow human beings who use the road network, by driving my vehicle responsibly and carefully

The above tips will be constantly repeated,  with the aim of contributing to the consolidation of traffic and road culture
